Offshore Medic Refresher

This Offshore Medic refresher course encompasses all the required elements from the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) covering all aspects of the legal requirements, alongside the latest clinical thinking. We HSE to guide you through a refresher process, which is every 3 years.
This course is required for those medics who wish to continue to work within the offshore industry. The offshore installations and pipeline works (first aid) regulations 1989 placed a duty on those in control of offshore installations, pipeline works, or any associated activities to make provision for persons to administer first aid and emergency treatment to those who become ill or injured at work.

Aims and Objectives
It is often very difficult for Offshore medics to get the required time off to complete their HSE Offshore Medic refresher course so this option utilises a distance learning approach to complete the modules in your own time, at your own pace. It is possible to complete this course over a 1 to 6 six month period. Once all modules have been completed satisfactorily you can attend one of our 2 day skills update and assessment programme which encompasses Adult Life Support and Trauma OSCE's plus any clinical updates.

How it works

1. We post to your module books as well as any supporting learning materials.
2. Learners complete the written exercises within the module books by conducting their own self directed study and research, then return them to us for marking and feedback
3. Our faculty will offer both telephone and online support throughout the process
4. The student choses a 2 day assessment course from our available dates.
   Once all the booklets have been completed, marked and you have attended and passed your 2 day OSM refresher; we will send you your OSM certificate.
